The holiday is quickly approaching and the Christopher Burgan Trio has decided to do another show before Christmas. So the gig is at The Coffee Gallery Backstage on November 27th at 8:00pm. This show will be a little different. Since the percussionist can't make it, we have asked Bobby Figueroa (formerly a long time Beach Boy) if he would fill in. There will also be some Christmas tunes in the set. And drum roll please............. We have a Christmas CD that will be available at the show (more news on that to follow).

We hope you can make it out for the show. As with each show, it will be unique and special.

If you are anywhere in the Southern California area, this is a concert not to be missed! Christopher Burgan will be performing with a trio at The Coffee Gallery Backstage on Friday, August 13th, at 8:00pm. Jimmy Dunn will be playing piano, Shane Schupbach will be playing percussion, and you might be lucky enough to see Robin Dunn sit in on a few songs playing cello. It is an incredible mix of musicians and an event you will regret missing if you do not attend.

Chat'erup Charlie has played four gigs as of this blog. So far, EACH venue has commented that they are, or are among the best bands EVER to play at those venues.

Because Chris has had so much fun playing music with friends, he has decided to start a side project called Chat'erup Charlie. It is a classic/modern rock cover band. They are having a lot of fun revisiting the music of their youth. A side note, the band includes David Olivas and Brad Mann who were in Dark White, the first band Chris was ever a part of. Other members include Shane Schupbach and Jessica Burgan, both amazing vocalists in their own right. Their upcoming gigs are as follows:

The new sessions have been going great!

I am currently working on a single with the band Bobby Figueroa and Corazon Pacifico, and have started the new Christopher Burgan solo CD.

Bobby is a fantastic drummer and singer who's claim to fame came by way of a little surf band called The Beach Boys. He played with the band from the early 1970's until the original band broke up with the passing of Carl Wilson.

That is where I come in... We are doing a project geared toward the Latin market. The single will be "God Only Knows" and "Darlin'" sung in Spanish... With a Latin flair.

If that were not enough, the Christopher Burgan band is sounding great! We have reunited childhood band mates: drummer Brad Mann, bassist David Olivas, and myself, with percussionist / vocalist Shane Schupbach, and guitarist Akira Harrison.

Throw in a healthy dose of new We Five dates, and you have a fun... and busy summer.

Hopefully there is a little something there for everybody.

American Cancer Society - Walk For Life

The band and I had no idea that when we were booked to perform at the American Cancer Society - Walk For Life - June 13, 2009 in Pompei Park, Glendora, CA 91740 that it would hit so close to home right away. It came with great sadness last week when drummer Brad Mann's father, Cuthbert Mann, passed away from prostate cancer. We are honored to be a part of this event... and hope to play a very small part in helping to find a cure. Come help us honor Bert as we play in his memory at 5:45 P.M.

CD Release Party Unearthed

We found a single shot copy of the CD Release Party for "Breakfast in the Sunroom" that was held at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Alta Dena, California, on November 28, 2007. The entire concert was not captured on video, however, what we did get is pretty fun. Check it out here! I think we can all agree that if you missed it, it was a great night!

It has been a blast playing with Shane, Akira, and Eileen. We always have so much fun together. Practice is full of hard work, but laughs and good times still prevail. Check out this photo of Shane playing a "mean" bongo.
